Bring a Friend to Music Lessons Week

The week of March 11 – March 16 was Bring-a-Friend week at Michelle Tuesday Music School, where students get to invite their friend to music lessons and show off their mad music skillz. One of our more popular events, Bring-a-Friend week always results in lots of fun times, awesome photos, and delicious donuts from our neighbors, Dunkin Donuts. Students of piano, voice, violin, guitar, and even our preschool music students brought their buddies to music lessons, and Ms. Karen wowed us again with her amazing photography skills. The students and their guests received complimentary photos from their music lessons, which you may now enjoy below. Continue reading “Bring a Friend to Music Lessons Week”

Governor Kasich’s Budget Plan – Small Business Impact

First, understand that this is a budget PROPOSAL and not yet legislation. Titled House Bill 59, this proposal is complicated and has a fairly large impact on small business. LONG. So in an effort to save you a couple days of incredibly boring reading, here’s the plan in a nutshell as it applies to small business: Continue reading “Governor Kasich’s Budget Plan – Small Business Impact”

Valentine’s Recitals 2013 – Saturday Performances

Michelle Tuesday Music School held its third annual Valentine’s Recitals at Poblano’s Mexican Restaurant in Reynoldsburg on Saturday, February 9 and Sunday, February 10. The audience enjoyed the delicious offerings and colorful setting of Poblano’s while being entertained by the finest young musicians in Columbus. The recital featured performances by students playing drums, piano, guitar, violin, bass, drums, flute, saxophone and cello, as well as plenty of vocalists and a performance by one of our student bands. Poblano’s was very excited to host our event and could not stop talking about how talented our students are. In fact, they asked how many of these events we could hold every year. 🙂 Don’t worry, Poblano’s. We’ll definitely be back. We couldn’t ask for a more gracious host for our recitals.

Enjoy photographs from the Saturday performances, below. Continue reading “Valentine’s Recitals 2013 – Saturday Performances”

Adult Valentine’s Recital 2013

Michelle Tuesday Music School held its third annual Adult-Only Valentine’s Recital on Friday, 2/8/13 from 6:30-7:30 PM in the MTMS lobby. As usual, the event was a smashing success. The recital featured a debut performance by student Libby Justice on “Part of Your World,” from The Little Mermaid and the Haslage Sisters performing a flute and clarinet duet. We also enjoyed instructors Leann Lindsay and Zach Garster singing “I Dreamed a Dream” and “Stars” from Les Miserables, as well as the faculty duo of Carolyn Sigler on violin performing Lady Gaga tunes accompanied by MTMS’s very own Zach Garster on piano. We also had performances from our Advanced Flute Ensemble, Continue reading “Adult Valentine’s Recital 2013”
