Michelle Tuesday is a professional singer, songwriter, writer and teacher with over 40 years of musical experience. Born into a musical family and classically trained as a soprano and pianist, Michelle began performing professional engagements and started her teaching career when she was 15.
Michelle Tuesday has played regularly at various venues in central Ohio, including farmers’ markets, private events, and restaurants, most notably, Potbelly Sandwich Shop in Gahanna, Reynoldsburg and Easton, where she entertained the lunch crowd six days a week from 2006-2017. Her music is an eclectic mix of folk, rock, country, pop, R&B, and contemporary Christian songs, all performed in her signature acoustic style. A typical gig might feature covers of such diverse artists as U2, The Beatles, Carole King, Taylor Swift, Rihanna, and Bruce Springsteen, plus original songs.
Michelle Tuesday also started her career as a music teacher at the age of 15, when she first volunteered to lead the Vacation Bible School music program at her church in Frankfurt, Germany, where Michelle, a proud Army brat, lived with her parents and younger brother. Michelle has professionally taught piano, guitar, drum, bass, rock band and voice lessons for over twenty years, and has in the last decade added violin and cello to her repertoire. She served as praise band director for Messiah Lutheran Church in Reynoldsburg from 2001 to 2018, where she recruited, encouraged and coached volunteer musicians and led worship every week.
Today, in addition to teaching her own students, Michelle enjoys coaching employees and helping them reach their professional goals. She keeps a regularly updated blog featuring tips and insights about teaching, practice, performance, and the world of music, along with goings-on at her music school. Michelle Tuesday Music School, which opened in Gahanna, Ohio in September 2010.
Michelle Tuesday is passionate about music and teaching. She finds nothing more rewarding than watching the artist in her students develop and flourish, which is why MTMS offers so many performance opportunities. She is proud to live in and serve the greater Gahanna community. She resigned from her music director position at Messiah in 2018 in order to focus on family and the music school, but still volunteers regularly as a worship musician at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Gahanna.
Michelle resides in Blacklick with her husband, Keith, an avid Buckeyes and Browns fan, and their yappy lap dogs, Sammy, Thomas, and Cece.
