Christian Bechtol

Christian has been playing the drum set for more than fourteen years. He specializes in the genres of Jazz, Rock, Pop, Funk and Latin. He spent two years attending the Tri-C Jazz program in Cleveland, Ohio. During this time he had the great pleasure of working with musicians such as pianist Joe Hunter and vocalist Doris Long. Alongside of his playing, he was also the drum instructor for the West Jefferson High School marching band and the Bishop Ready High School marching band.

In 2013, he received the North American Scholarship Award to attend the Berklee College Of Music. While at Berklee, his main focus was music education. During this time he was also the percussion Instructor for Oliver Ames High School in Easton, Massachusetts and gave private drum and mallet percussion lessons at Rhapsody Music. Christian completed his student teaching under the Director of Music Robert Wheeler at Easton Public Schools.

During his student teaching he was responsible for 1st grade general music, 4th grade flute and trombone class, 5th and 6th grade concert band, grades 9-12 concert band and grades 11 and 12 music technology and theory class. After his student teaching in Easton, Christian continued as Easton’s percussion instructor, became director of Easton’s first Middle school jazz combo, instructor for the Oliver Ames High School Jazz big band, Jazz band clinician and judge and director of the Oliver Ames Panache Show Choir Pit.
