Michael Varrone

Michael Varrone has been passionate about music from an early age. His passion fueled a non-stop education track in which he consistently attained superior ratings in high school contests. Michael studied percussion performance/education with George Gabor at Indiana University. Involved with IU’s yearly performance auditions Michael was placed in a percussion position in the top of five orchestras at IU called the Philharmonic Orchestra. He successfully held that position in his sophomore year and throughout his senior year.

Michael believes that nothing is impossible. He continued to study jazz piano with Mark Kieswetter for seven years and voice with Mary Anderson of Pfeiffer University for an additional seven years.

Michael has enjoyed a rich musical career as the Music Director of several churches over 28 years including World Harvest Church where he served for 10 years. It was at this time that Michael’s talent was utilized in teaching and believing in people. He successfully wrote new music, arranged and rehearsed for 10 piece band as well as a 95 voice choir for television. He taught music theory as well as private instrumental and vocal instruction to elevate this team to national attention. As an educator, published songwriter and author Michael teaches clinics, and private lessons in drum set, percussion, piano, voice, jazz theory, and gospel theory. He is also involved in mentoring youth in Columbus.

Michael continues to stretch himself with personal continuing education as well as well as weekly drum and piano playing opportunities in several area churches. Michael is very active in writing, arranging and producing music in his studio for social media and public performances.

In Michael’s spare time he enjoys entertaining friends and family with cooking upscale cuisine.
