If you have not yet signed up for the 2012 Holiday Recitals, you can still participate during the Saturday evening session from 6-7pm. It’s too late to get your child’s name in the recital program, but not too late to perform! Just show up shortly before 6pm on Saturday and let one of us know you would like to be added to the lineup of musicians performing.
Students who are too nervous to perform on the big stage are encouraged to come watch and cheer on their fellow students. With musical performances ranging from beginner to advanced, from traditional to modern to original, from piano to flute to ukulele, the entire event is sure to be fantastic.
Friday’s Adult-Only Recital will be held at MTMS from 7:30 – 8:30 this Friday evening, December 14th. You may participate even if you have not signed up, or feel free to show up and just watch. The recital is always a lot of fun. The group will be very small, but we do a lot of hootin’ and hollerin’ and cheering each other on. We usually close the adult recital with some fun impromptu performances by our staff.
Saturday and Sunday are the formal recitals held at Otterbein University. Riley Auditorium is inside an Otterbein campus building called the Battelle Fine Arts Center, which is located at 170 W. Park Street in Westerville.
DIRECTIONS: From State Street in Westerville, head west on Park Street, which takes you through a portion of Otterbein’s campus. The Battelle Fine Arts Center is in the third block on the right. The building is situated between two parking lots, and you may park in any lot because Otterbein is on Winter Break. Enter the Battelle Fine Arts Center from the lawn side rather than the street side. The lawn-side front doors take you directly into the auditorium lobby.
